New Year "UFO" mystery
CHARD man saw in the New Year with a mystery sighting in the skies above the town. Grant Davies, of Old Town, claims he spotted a UFO after watching fireworks from Combe Beacon in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
He said: “My wife and I were driving down Snowdon Hill just after midnight when we saw a strange object dart across the sky. “It was coming across from the back of Snowdon House and hovered along Tapstone Lane and Snowdon Heights.
“It went from a diamond shape to a bright circle and within a couple of minutes it had disappeared.”
Mr Davies, 36, believes the object was not linked to any late night celebrations in the area.
He said: “If it was a firework, why would it hover and then just vanish?
