An unidentified flying object (UFO) disrupted air traffic over Zhejiang’s provincial capital Hangzhou late on Wednesday, the municipal government said on Thursday. Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at around 9 pm, and some flights were rerouted to airports in the cities of Ningbo and Wuxi , said an airport spokesman, who declined to be named. The airport had resumed operations, and more details will be released after an investigation, he said. A source with knowledge of the matter, however, told China Daily on Thursday that authorities had learned what the UFO was after an investigation. But it was not the proper time to publicly disclose the information because there was a military connection, he said, adding that an official explanation is expected to be given on Friday. Inbound flights were diverted to the nearby airports in Zhejiang province’s Ningbo and Jiangsu province’s Wuxi. Outbound flights were delayed for three to four hours. A staff member at the airport’s information desk said the airport had “no idea” how many flights were affected by the closure. music by me — peace!

BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhaunet) — The unidentified flying object that disrupted air traffic in Hangzhou for an hour on Wednesday remains, well, unidentified. “No conclusion has yet been drawn,” Wang Jian, head of air traffic control with the Zhejiang branch of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), was quoted by Xinhua News Agency as saying. Some media have speculated the UFO might be a private aircraft, based on the increasing number of privately-owned aircraft in Zhejiang province. But Wang said the possibility it was a private plane was “just a guess.” A source with knowledge of the matter, however, told China Daily earlier that the object had a military connection. A staff member at Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou said a twinkling object was first spotted over the city’s sky around 8:30 pm on Wednesday. However, the object did not show up on the airport’s radar. Xiaoshan Airport was then closed at 8:45 pm over security concerns, and only resumed operation at 9:41 pm. A dozen inbound flights were diverted to nearby airports and six outbound flights were delayed for three to four hours. According to an estimate by Shanghai-based Evening News, more than 2000 passengers were affected. It was the first time an airport in China has been shut down on such short notice due to a UFO, said a staff member with the CAAC of East China, who declined to be named. “We should first find out how the owner got the approval to fly the object,” said the staff member, adding “even a …

On July 7, Xiaoshan Airport closed down and delayed 18 flights. The reason being that an oddly shaped bright light appeared in the sky and caused confusion and panic. The fear levels have gone down, but people are still wondering what that light was. The unidentified flying object (UFO), as its being called now, captured the attention of the Chinese media and sparked a firestorm of speculation on the UFO’s identity. An ABC News article on the mysterious sighting, explains the event in greater detail. “It is a hidden US bomber flying toward China,” one Internet user wrote on Monday. Another wrote on Saturday night, “In my opinion, the UFO is neither a US missile nor a Russian satellite. Suggestions that it is extraterrestrial are even more preposterous. Everyone, use your head. This is clearly a man-made phenomenon. Would the US or Russia risk provoking China’s anger by firing a missile or satellite rocket in Chinese skies, without warning? I believe the Chinese military is responsible for the UFO. It is a new missile or aircraft being tested out.” The speculation is high, but UFO doesn’t necessarily mean little, green men. The ABC article explains that a day following the sighting, “an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publicly disclose the information because ‘there was a military connection.’” Authorities are continuing to look into the incident, but until the public …

EDIT: The California clip is missing from this video, you can watch the full version here: www.youtube.com A series of UFO sightings taken over Russia, China, and the USA during 2009 and 2010. These sightings appeared around the same time as the spiral sightings that made world news during 2010. At certain points during the videos you can see a change in the vapour trail left by the object. This most likely indicates the craft is breaking the sound barrier. These sightings are unique because they appear to be missile tests, but were seen throughout the world and over heavily built-up areas. The Californian sighting made world news with no conclusive answer other than it must be a plane! Appologies, but the Californian clip appears to be missing! If these are missiles then there is some sort of world-wide joint military testing going on in secret, and for a secretive purpose. The USA and China would never agree to a joint military excersise, especially as they are currently engaged in an arms race. Please leave comments and feedback for the videos, and thanks for watching.

Date of UFO sighting: September 1, 2010 Location of Sighting: Xi’ian, China Source: China Daily Newspaper At 9:10 PM in Xi’ian city, there appeared in the sky 8-9 white spots. These unusual spots in the sky were separated into groups of three. Each group of three were moving in a circular motion. At around 9:15 PM the spots divided into two groups. Each formed a line that crossed the other group to form a large white X in the night sky. After about 5 seconds, many of the spots in the X formation increased their luminosity by double or more. At that moment they all scattered, then repeated the pattern again. Each whitish object in the sky seemed to be dragging something behind it. Many citizens saw these objects performing in the sky. It was located directly above East Street South Exit. On eyewitness named Mr. Jiang stated, “These things stayed in a group and kept it moving. They flew apart at the most 100 meters from oneanother. Another eyewitness, Ms. Chan stated, “there was a cloud over the objects that was in the shape of a dragon and was recorded on many of our cell phones.” The China Daily estimates that hundreds of people were eyewitnesses to these strange white objects glowing and rotating in the night sky. Another eyewitness said, “they suddenly came together, and quickly spread out.” ********************************* For more UFO info read, UFO Sightings of 2006-2009.
